This is the problem with My Kitchen Rules (1st – 1,796,000) being so popular: shows like Please Marry My Boy (3rd – 1,084,000) rate as highly as they do and outshine real, actual, intelligent television like Sherlock (12th – 738,000). The big winner of the night was The Project (19th – 526,000), rating the highest it has at 6pm and all because of an apology (such that it was). Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation (16th – 633,000) also struggled against the MKR behemoth/halo effect, as did Adam Hills In Gordon Street Tonight (21st – 508,000) – both are great shows and have rated better previously, but no alternative programming has a chance at the moment, short of maybe some sport.
