The Block (4th - 1,104,000) is the highest non-News programming for the night and the winner of the 7pm timeslot. Again. MasterChef Australia (9th - 933.000) solid but still early days yet. The big event for the night was Celebrity Apprentice Australia (Winner 7th - 1,036,000; Boardroom 11th - 901,000; Challenge 12th - 837,000) and even though a single show was coded into three separate programs it still won it's timeslot, even after the winner being announced accidentally by NineMSN yesterday morning. ABC1's evening line up - Randling (22nd - 491,000), Laid (36th - 262,000) & Agony Aunts (30th - 332,000) - experiencing varied forms of … [Read more...]

This is new: a Tuesday night with two big new shows, and both fared pretty well. Once Upon A Time (1st - 1,305,000) and Bikie Wars: Brothers In Arms (3rd - 1,261,000) both win their timeslot and set the respective series up well. Packed to the Rafters (5th - 1,210,000) suffered a little bit but still rated well. Well enough got Ch7 to win the night anyway. The Block (7th - 1,164,000) won the 7pm timeslot easily ahead of MasterChef Australia (11th - 954,000) and Home and Away (14th - 926,000) and despite Ch9's promotion of it as the "next big thing", Two Broke Girls (9pm 15th - 762,000; 9:30pm 18th - 670,000) is performing as it deserves - … [Read more...]

The Voice Australia (1st - 2,199,000) nails the win, head and shoulders above the nearest other program. The Block (4th - 1,274,000) continues to own 7pm, way ahead of MasterChef Australia (9th - 1,042,000). The launch of Tricky Business (7th - 1,160,000) fared OK, though as expected a significant drop off from it's high rating predecessor. Today Tonight (5th - 1,199,000) scrapes a win over A Current Affair (1,197,000), both way ahead of The Project 6:30PM (15th - 649,000). Movies/AFL fail to land any serious ratings for Ch7 (though some might suggest they're not even trying). Timeslot winners (nationally): 6:00pm: Seven News - … [Read more...]

Another big win for Nine News Sunday (1st - 1,525,000), followed closely by The Block (2nd - 1,429,000) and 60 Minutes (4th - 1,198,000) putting MasterChef Australia (5th -1,150,000) in it's place. Dancing With The Stars (6th - 1,110,000) though still over one million and strong by normal standards, couldn't keep up with the competition. In fact it's not until 8:30pm with Bones (7th - 886,000) that Ch7 win any timeslot. Sadly, The Mentalist (13th - 724,000) & Touch (16th - 589,000) languishing at 8:30pm. Timeslot winners (nationally): 6:00pm: Nine News - Ch79 6:30pm: The Block - Ch9 7:30pm: 60 Minutes - Ch9 8:30pm: Bones - Ch7 9:30pm: … [Read more...]

It seems weird that in Australia Friday night sport isn't king, but that's how it's been the past few weeks. The Block (6th - 871,000) continues to own the 7pm slot, and Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (7th - 857,000) offers a good timeslot win for its penultimate episode. MasterChef Australia (8th - 723,000) does OK, but the first episode of Ch10's new lifestyle program The Living Room (17th - 510,000) will need to do more against the competition. Timeslot winners (nationally): 6:00pm: Seven News - Ch7 6:30pm: Today Tonight - Ch7 7:00pm: The Block - Ch9 7:30pm: Nine's Live Friday Night Football - Ch9 8:30pm: Miss Fisher's Murder … [Read more...]

The Block (4th - 1,043,000) triumphs as the highest rating non-News program, just ahead of MasterChef Australia (5th - 1,010,000) - the gap is closing, with this result the closest we've seen all week. Celebrity Apprentice Australia (Challenge 10th - 686,000; Boardroomn 9th - 719,000) won it's timeslot with next to no competition and a solid result (though low ratings) given it's the second last episode of the series. Glee (13th - 636,000) struggles again but at least it only came second to the other programs on offer (not a distant third like Ch7's mixed line up). Timeslot winners (nationally): 6:00pm: Seven News - Ch7 6:30pm: Today … [Read more...]

A slow Wednesday night - lots of programming, but not a lot of interest. Australia's Got Talent (3rd - 1,165,000) won it's timeslot as the semi's commence and while 1.165m is good figures it pales in comparison to the elephant in the room that is The Voice Australia (the measure of all future series). The Block (5th - 1,119,000) continues to win 7pm though MasterChef Australia (Top 50 6th - 1,025,000) is knocking on the door for the first time this season. Given it's only week one, could it be that The Block could be quickly usurped? Randling (17th - 621,000) down 250K on week one numbers. Timeslot winners (nationally): 6:00pm: Seven News … [Read more...]

A big finale night for The Biggest Loser Australia (Finale 2nd - 1,348,000; Winner 1st - 1,365,000) and some much needed attention for Ch10. The Block (5th - 1,200,000) continues to hold court at 7pm though, ahead of MasterChef Australia (11th - 1,078,000). It's a busy schedule with 11 shows over one million viewers, including Packed To The Rafters (6th - 1,178,000). Even ABC1's coverage of Budget 2012 (17th - 711,000) did reasonably well as political wonks around the country tuned in to find out how their lives might change. Timeslot winners (nationally): 6:00pm: Seven News - Ch7 6:30pm: Today Tonight - Ch7 7:00pm: The Block - … [Read more...]
