With a semi-final featuring Roger Federer & Rafael Nadal, the Australian Open tennis was always going to be big for Ch7. Night-winning big – Seven’s Tennis: 2012 Aust Open – Day 11 Night Session (1st – 1,700,000). Nine News (2nd – 1,254,000) took out the news battle off the back of strong cricket figures (again), and Today Tonight (6th – 971,000) won the current affairs battle. The Biggest Loser Australia (15th – 612,000) slipped further down the scale, though again tennis has an impact so no real indication can be drawn until it stands on it’s own next week… though it doesn’t look great for Ch10. Perhaps people are over the ritualised humiliation of the first weeks of Loser (a significant point of difference to what Excess Baggage will offer from Monday). The Project (23rd – 409,000) slipped down again after a lift the previous night. It’s going to continue to be a tough slog for them.
