A big night for some, but not Ch9 (who, to be fair, weren’t really trying). Revenge (1st – 1,553,000) tops out with a massive result proving that prime time soap opera drama is back in a big way. MasterChef Australia (2nd – 1,549,000) no slacker either as last night everyone bid Ben farewell and looked to two more episodes of massive numbers. Even The Amazing Race Australia (7th – 1,014,000) lifted it’s game to see the final four teams be determined with the Cougar & her ToyBoy getting eliminated.

With MasterChef running 15 minutes overtime, it affected the preliminary numbers for The Shire (6th – 1,062,000) quite dramatically – dropping to 754,000 and equal 15th place once the overrun was taken into account. It’s not great news, and the initial figures certainly shocked a lot of people who then smugly went on their way once the adjusted figures were publicised. The change in ratings for the show doesn’t change that MasterChef/The Shire took out the 7:30pm timeslot easily.
