A round 4 Tomic vs Federer match was always going to be big. So was Channel 10’s new Super Sunday. Though the game was over by 8:45pm AEDT, Ch10’s lineup still performed admirably, with the 4 big new shows/new eps rounding out the Top 6: New Girl (3rd – 1,275,000), Homeland (4th – 1,223,000), Modern Family (5th – 1,127,000), Young Talent Time (6th – 1,050,000). This placed Ch10 a clear 2nd for the night and left many asking if there will be an encore of these shows (news just in: absolutely – YTT, New Girl & Homeland all repeated from 8pm Tue night). Tennis aside, this a massive result for Ch10 and will deliver them a much needed confidence boost heading into the 2012 ratings season (starts in 3 weeks). For the half hour that the tennis was on 7Two, it tied for first place with The Big Bang Theory in the digital multi-channel race with 289,000 viewers – yet with all this going on there was still 309,000 people ready to watch the second Twenty 20 Cricket: Big Bash League semi-final.
