Primary Channels

Another Friday, another ABC1 win. Huh?! New Tricks pulls a win with 1.1m viewers, just snatching victory from Better Homes and Gardens on 1.097m. If only Sydney had pulled it’s weight more. Only 4 shows above 1m, indicative of the market essentially taking the night off. Solid but not great numbers for Biggest Loser: Families & Undercover Boss. Incredibly, Ch7’s decision to show Burn After Reading on Friday night in place of the NAB CUP: Essendon v Brisbane v St Kilda in Brisbane proves entirely perplexing. Surely the Lions faithful would have tuned in, rather than to Twitter to seek out the score?

Timeslot winners (nationally):
6:00pm: Seven News – Ch7
6:30pm: Today Tonight – Ch7
7:00pm: Home and Away – Ch7
7:30pm: Better Homes and Gardens – Ch7
8:30pm: New Tricks – ABC1
9:30pm: Kidnap and Ransom – ABC1

This was Channel 7’s night, however with two decent wins in timeslots it meant that ABC1 beat Ch10 for third place.

Digital Multi-channels

Even though Neighbours delivered in it’s usual position – first – this was GO!’s night by the slimmest of margins. Even with Fox Sports creeping in with the Super Rugby: Rebels v Waratahs game. All the digital multi-channels are delivering very strongly – 24% of the market secured by the digital multis combined. People are watching.

A solid performance from 7Two (and less so my 7mate) helped the 7 Network to comfortable win overall.
