It can only be expected that Warnie got the ratings it did this week was for one of two reasons: the cricket-watching public were tuning in to see Ricky Ponting defend his appalling performance as captain, or to hear more about Shane’s new girlfriend. Neither happenend. The numbers it got are down a lot from S01E01 but up from S01E02 (my, what short memories we all have). With The Ashes live from Perth and therefore creeping into primetime in the eastern states, the numbers must be bolstered by fans tuning in just to see exactly how crap the Australian team is at the moment.
Channel 10’s Thursday night line up continues to perform well – what impact will Eleven have? Major congrats to Channel 9’s News teams delivering the second win in a row this week overall, and in South East Queensland as well. Maintaining this momentum without the cricket will be interesting… All eyes on next week.
