After such a big lead in from MasterChef Australia (1,355,000), the premiere of The Shire (11th – 913,000) didn’t go as well as hoped. Certainly it drew eyes but will they return next week? If it maintains above 900K the producers would be well pleased. Conversely in the same timeslot, Australian Story (9th – 942,000) out rates The Shire. The Amazing Race Australia (10th – 913,000) is also struggling to find an audience on Monday nights – a shame considering the calibre of this second season. Revenge (2nd – 1,344,000) continues to be a massive success for Ch7, and the penultimate episode only continues the lean towards the return of prime time soap opera. Overall, it’s the closest the four major channels have been in weeks.
