A clean sweep for Channel 9, due in no small part to the Big Brother Grand Final (2nd – 1,260,000) and Big Brother Winner Announced (1st – 1,473,000). The figures are lower that what was expected though the win was testament to Ch9’s support in bringing the grandaddy of all reality shows back. Overshadowed by the traffic on Ch9 was the fact that ABC News (3rd – 1,087,000) beat out all the commercial News services for the night – not by much, but it still won. Embarrassing Bodies (7th – 974,000) benefits from the Big Brother afterglow.
