Primary Channels

Ch7’s News was the only show to break 1m, but it was ABC1 with the big surprise – 5 shows in the Top10 (including two repeats)! While the weather is as nice as it is, it’s obvious that viewers are opting for non-televisual activities on a Saturday night at the moment.

Timeslot winners (nationally):
6:00pm: Seven News – Ch7
6:30pm: Gardening Australia/ABC News – ABC1
7:30pm: Doc Martin (rpt) – ABC1
8:30pm: Midsomer Murders – ABC1
9:30pm: Midsomer Murders – ABC1

ABC1 wins the night, 0.2% on Ch7. Ch9 & Ch10 not even in the race.

Digital Multi-channels

While the numbers are low, the digital multi-channels are delivering significant viewership on dry nights for the primary channels. 22.4% of the viewing audience watched a digital multi on Saturday.

The big winners were British drama for 7Two (duh!) and movies for GO!.

The 7 Network won the night, and the week very convincingly. The other networks have a lot of work to do to catch them at this point in time, rounding out Week 10 & the first month of ratings for 2011.
