Not all new content is proving to be succesful (neither is repeats of recent content). The first episode of the remade Upstairs Downstairs (5th; 915,000) fared well for ABC1 and may help draw in the crowd suffering from not enough Downton Abbey. Ch10’s It’s a Knockout (6th; 872,000) dropped nearly 200,000 viewers on last week but that won’t be enough for Ch10 to panic about it yet – we’ll see this series from the “Knockerdome” play through summer. Ch9’s part one of Christmas with the Australian Women’s Weekly (4th; 994,000) confirmed our fascination with celebs and their Christmas traditions, even if the set decorators took the week off. Sunday was still busy with 3 shows above one million viewers and six between 800,000 and 1m. Bad news for Ch10 with the “last episode for a few weeks” of Terra Nova (14th; 687,000) looking terra-ble (I know, I know, but I couldn’t resist).
