Given her increased profile in 2011 Sylvia Jeffreys was always being primed for bigger things within the Nine Network, it’s no surprise to hear the announcement she is moving south permanently to join The Today Show as their Sydney reporter from 23 January 2012.
“I’m really excited about the new role. The Today Show is a fantastic team,” said Jeffreys, also one of the presenters at the 2011 inaugural Molkie Awards. “Of course I will miss my mates at QTQ but bring on 2012!”
Quickly becoming a fixture on Queensland televisons as a regular reporter for Nine News Brisbane & weekend weather presenter, this year also saw Jeffreys fill in as Weekend Today newsreader and feature prominently in the Qld Floods & Cyclone Yasi coverage proving she’s a rising star for the network. She will be replaced in the Qld reporting team by Davina Smith.
