Former Getaway alumni/host Jason Dundas has scored a major role on VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live, working alongside host Carrie Keegan as the pop culture correspondent.

The live morning entertainment show kicks off Monday 17 Oct at 9AM Eastern, live from the lobby of VH1’s headquarters in Times Square. The hosts will “get up close and personal with the most buzzed about celebs and candidly discuss everything from mainstream news to under-the-radar discoveries in film, music, fashion, cooking, television and the web.” Dundas has explained the show as being “just like The Today Show in Australia”.

He’ll have a full plate, with guests in his first week on the job including: Hanson, The Fray, Chris Isaak, Johnny Weir, Boyz II Men & Sarah Hyland (ABC’s “Modern Family”).

Dundas has made no secret of his ambition. The clean-living, tee-totalling, good-looking ladie’s man has been to thousands of auditions, and reportedly talked the producers into giving him this role. A clear sign this wry-smiling Aussie has stars in his eyes and talent to back it up.

While Dundas’s star only rises, rumours continue to surround his former show. Latest word is that Getaway will return to Channel 9 in 2012, albeit in a smaller scale, and the show will likely to slot back into a Saturday afternoon spot against other localised travel/informercial programming.
