Channel Seven today announced the hit Australian drama series Winners & Losers will return for its anticipated second season on Tuesday, June 26 at 8.30pm.
Averaging over 1.5million viewers during its first season, the ensemble drama starring Logie award-winner (Most Popular New Female Talent) Melissa Bergland, Virginia Gay, Zoe Tuckwell-Smith and Melanie Vallejo quickly became an audience favourite in 2011 for its heart, honesty and humour.
In the series return, re-united high-school friends Bec (played by Zoe Tuckwell-Smith), Jenny (played by Melissa Bergland), Frances (played by Virginia Gay) and Sophie (played by Melanie Vallejo) discover their lives moving in directions none of them could possibly have imagined.
It’s been three months since the wedding of Bec and Matt (played by Blair McDonough). Bec is dealing with the news of her pregnancy and the delicate issue of the paternity. It’s not an ideal situation, but she’s committed to making it work. Can Matt do the same?
Jenny is returning to university to study teaching, but first must confess to the girls and her family that she has blown her entire share of the lottery money.
Meanwhile Frances and Zach (played by Stephen Phillips) must now navigate the parenting of Frances’ half-sister and the effect this will have on their own relationship.
Sophie finally got her man. She and Dr Doug (played by Tom Wren) could not be happier… But now he is to father her best friend’s baby, can their new relationship cope with such a delicate situation?
Comedic actors Denise Scott and Francis Greenslade return as the loveable Trish and Brian Gross who find themselves caught off guard by the surprise arrival of family matriarch Nanna Dot, played by Anne Phelan.
