Week 31 smells just a little but nicer, a little bit newer, mainly due to the addition of a whole bunch of new television. At least 5 new shows hit the airwaves this week, including the much promoted The Renovators on Channel 10 (didn’t you know?) and Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year on Channel 9. Top Design is starting to struggle already, even with the second best lead in available in TV at the moment… but future eps show it gets far more interesting, if we ever get to them. This week, however, it will be all eyes on Ch10’s new bright yellow baby…

In case you’d been living in a cave with no TV (and who’d do that – really?!), finally we get to see Ch10’s new DIY reality baby The Renovators, starting tonight. It’s certainly big and fun – everything this season of MasterChef should have been. It’s a long haul, however, with at least 5 nights a week at the start. Will everyone care that long? Likely.

Judith Lucy’s Spiritual Journey starts this week with the first episode aptly titled “Genesis”. It’s an alarmingly honest & hilarious insight into Judith’s thoughts about faith, should she ever need it again.

If you were given a truckload of money and told to make a TV show about whatever you wanted, wouldn’t you move to New York and look around a bit on the company dime? Well that’s what you can expect from Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year, with an added dose of the kind of fun this duo always deliver with their road trips from previous years. It’ll be light, whacky & inoffensive TV.
