By Week 24 you could expect we’d have trends. Trends in viewing and trends in programming. We do – just they aren’t what you think they should be… Viewing trends are erratic, while programming continues to compete to be the most amazing piece of confusion possible. Shows cut early (not all a bad thing), shows continually running long (which is amazing when they are pre-recorded shows and they KNOW they have 75 minutes instead of 60 – why not just schedule it like that?), shows bouncing in and around schedules like they’re on trampolines.

If you can keep up, you’re better than I am. Thus this guide is offered as is, with the best of intentions, with no allowance made for slack or inept programming. Oh, and how do you know there’s a new Harry Potter film coming out? One of the digitial multi-channels starts playing the film series from the start once a week, starting this week.

There’s nothing much new this week in the schedule, although Channel 7 will be keen to see a big audience turn back to Downton Abbey on Sunday night. So will Channel 10 to MasterChef Australia for that matter.

Hungry Beast and Fringe have their season finals this week, and A Quiet Word With… wrapped last week so they’re replaying the interviews starting with Carrie Fisher this week – such a great series, well worth the watch.

If you’ve not connected with Sons of Anarchy it’s still not too late, and it’s very good drama out of the US (quite surprising given some of the other dross we’ve been getting of late.

Still no sign of Mr Sunshine from Channel 9, but given it’s been cancelled in the US I wouldn’t hold my breath.

The count down to Top Design with Jamie Durie, The Block and The Renovators is on, with only the Block with a certified launch date (5 nights a week at 7pm, from Monday June 20). Look for more clones to come.
