Two new formats, two remade format, four new shows containing the hopes of Channel 10. With Sarah Murdoch rumoured to host Everybody Dance Now, auditions starting next week for I Will Survive and the other two yet to announce their intentions it’s a lot of programming that seems to sit well within Ch10’s demo focus. Bottom line is we’re all gonna hear a LOT more about them as we get closer to air dates for each. “Once I was afraid, I was petrified…” From the press release:

Network Ten today announces the commissioning of four new domestically produced, creatively dynamic, entertainment formats, deepening TEN’s programming offering and further strengthening the line-up for 2012.

With a focus on big entertainment for everyone, I Will Survive: Priscilla, Everybody Dance Now, Come Date with Me and Don’t Tell the Bride are the perfect mix of “shiny floor” shows, human drama and storytelling.

Network Ten Chief Programming Officer, David Mott, said: “This year we have deliberately set out to re-invigorate our schedule and firmly position TEN as the home of entertainment. “These four new programs are bold, irreverent, fresh, innovative and noisy. Never before have we had so many new and dynamic shows to offer Australian audiences. It’s an exciting time for us and we look forward to seeing these shows come to life throughout the year,” Mr Mott said.

“I Will Survive: Priscilla, Everybody Dance Now, Come Date with Me and Don’t Tell the Bride are the perfect mix of fun, high energy shows and will complement our already strong line-up for the coming months.”

I Will Survive: Priscilla, produced by FremantleMedia Australia, is set to explode onto screens later this year, and catapult one exceptional performer to Broadway. I Will Survive: Priscilla is the search for Australia’s next Triple Threat – SINGER, DANCER. ACTOR. The most talented individual performers, chosen from all walks of life, will jump on board the famous Priscilla bus which will retrace the steps of the box-office smash movie, from Sydney to Alice Springs. The program will see amazing performances from our contestants at each outback Australian location along the way under the direction of the best in the business.

Everybody Dance Now, produced by FremantleMedia Australia, is a blockbuster new series for every form of dance you can imagine. Australians of all ages are about to move like never before. Young or old, professional or amateur; get ready for the most surprising, most exciting and most entertaining dancing duels you’ll ever see. Two celebrity captains will handpick their teams from 120 eager dancers, then send their chosen dancer into a head-to-head showdown. Watch the fireworks begin. Can a ballroom-dancing 8-year old take down a sensational modern dancer? Can a hip-hop master survive a battle with a tap dancing Aussie sweetheart? One-on-one, head-to-head, until the audience picks their favourite and decides the ultimate winner.

Come Date With Me, from the producers of Please Marry My Boy and Four Weddings, Granada Media Australia, is the new culinary competition where delicious food and – potentially – love are on the menu. This is an exclusive ITV title that will be an entertaining prime-time series for TEN’s upcoming schedule. With plenty of drama and humour, this reality format brings a fresh twist to the world of dating.

Don’t Tell the Bride, produced by Endemol Southern Star, is a wedding show with a twist. A bride’s wedding is meant to be the best day of her life. But these women will have no say in any aspect of their big day, from the wedding dress and the bouquet to the reception and the music. Their future husbands will plan every detail without telling their bride anything about the day. Will he blow the budget on beer over flowers? How will the bride react when she sees what her husband has come up with?

Casting for I Will Survive, Everybody Dance Now, Come Date with Me and Don’t Tell the
Bride, commence in the coming weeks.
