Well this is awkward. Woolworths own the carols, but the event is presented by Telstra. I think I missed a meeting. Nonetheless Grant Denyer returns to host the Carols in the Domain, this year to be ably assisted by Natalie Barr. BYO box, Grant. Excellent to see Tania Doko on the bill – that girl can sing. From the press release:

For its 29th year, the much loved Christmas event Woolworths Carols in the Domain will be hosted by Grant Denyer and Natalie Barr.

The Carols will be shown live from Sydney’s Domain on Saturday, December 17, at 8.30 pm.
Joining in on the Christmas spirit on the Carols stage include Seven stars Georgie Parker, Hugh Sheridan, Damien Leith, The X Factor winner Reece Mastin, plus The Wiggles, Paulini, Tania Doko, David Campbell and Melinda Schneider. More performers will be announced over the coming weeks.

Grant says of being on the Carols stage: “Nothing is more magical than the spirit of Christmas and being part of a show that has 29 years of tradition is such a fantastic experience. I have always said that the Carols experience even softens the hardest of men.”

Hosting the event for the first time, Natalie adds: “I am over the moon to be co-hosting the Carols this year. I’ve always loved the Carols. Twenty years ago, when I first moved to Sydney, I’d go with girlfriends and we’d sit up the back with some food and a nice bottle of chardonnay, enjoying the amazing music and spectacular sea of lights. For the last 10 years, I’ve gone with my husband and two boys. For me, Christmas begins with the Carols. It’s a magical event.”

Woolworths Carols in the Domain brings Australians together to celebrate the songs and spirit of Christmas. The Salvation Army OASIS Youth Support Network is once again the event’s official charity. OASIS will receive all the funds from the sale of official candle bags at the event.

Woolworths Carols in the Domain is proudly presented by Telstra.
