Running off the back of the last 2 very successfule livestream events, this next event from Channel 9 will feature the the team from the Today Show, and they’re calling for your input and questions now. You can either tweet a question using the #9stream hashtag, or go to the Facebook fan page and leave your comment as a question there.
Host Rob McKnight has delivered many enjoyable and informative segments through the 9NewsAustralia YouTube Channel, and his hosting duties for the livestreams have also been spot on. Focusing on the brekky TV and all that surrounds it is quite timely, give the ease with which these light entertainment shows quickly morph into the start of rolling news coverage in times of disaster – at least 3 times in 2011 alone.
Additionally, I’ll be live tweeting the livestream event adding to the interactivity of the event. So… get invovled!
Can you fellows tell us when 9 for example will revert to TXing in 1080i ? To date I have received no credible excuse as to why you guys punted it, as I was most impressed when TCN News not only TX’ed studio in 1080i but also some news stories & OB’s in that format. I recall at the time ATN News only TX’ed their studio news in HD. Apart from all that why was & is The Australian TV industry in general not TXing in 1080p as all full HD TV’s have that capability to receive those signals of course ? Hope that Lisa has now agreed with Karl that no question is off limits ? Would like answers to the above, as I fancy many punters would ! I believe there are some countries around the world that TX in 1080p so why do Australian viewers have to watch inferior HDTV that’s when Free TV choose to spoil us with a 1080i offering ? Watching digital is akin to watching Baird Mechanical TV using A Nipkow Disc as opposed to say a 405 line system ! I want value for my plasma dollar guys. It is 2011 & not 1922 or 1936 after all, so let’s move with the times !!! – BigDon62 at Twitter.
Thanks for the comments and the questions, Donal! I don’t have any of the answers (I would guess, in part, the issue about quality of broadcast would be lack of spectrum until all the analog signals are shut off). I would recommend you ask your questions in Twitter with the #9stream hashtag so that the team at Ch9 pick them up to answer…
Here’s to getting answers!
Yes sounds like a plan Steve, will follow that advice. Not sure the analog switch off is a good enough excuse for leaving viewers wondering though ? But it will indeed be interesting to see if there are satisfactory answers to be had.
