Another very special "on the road" edition of my radio spots, all live from Parkes again. In what started out as a massive week became an even MORE massive week with the revelations relating to the Channel 9 "ChopperGate" scandal. 3 sackings and a resignation make for solid radio, so I had some extra chances to talk about it, including being asked for a quote in a story run on The World Today on ABC local radio and Radio National. This was a weird one for me - all my radio spots were done by phone (I'm usually in the studio with Kelly Higgins-Devine for my 612 ABC Brisbane spot), and while I think it worked, it wasn't ideal. Of course, how does one deliver spots with radio peeps all over the country when based in Brisbane (or Parkes)? Still - lots to talk about, especially with the Network Ten 2012 launch on Wednesday night... More work of a morning with Rod Cuddihy (of Rod & the Flack fame) on 4TO - one more week of Townsville love, and then it's back to normal. It was great to see Ben Fordham this week in Brisbane as well as have a chance to be on his 2GB show again, along with the others that I've been doing normally (including long timers Star FM, Mix FM, 612 ABC Brisbane and 2HC). I've so much love I can barely contain it - and that's just for TV. Little bit quieter on the radio front, but LOTS to talk about with the launch of a whole bunch of new shows. Got to be involved in my first outside broadcast, going out to Fernvale to do my regular spot on 612 ABC Brisbane with Kelly Higgins-Devine (all week her Drive show has been at different places looking at the impact of the floods 6 months on). No ABC Coast FM spot as Bernadette Young was ill (get well!), but a new spot on 2GF starting next week! I also did a daily spot with Rod Cuddihy on 4TO this week while he's filling in up there - if I can get the spots I'll publish them here. It's a weird time. Normally you'd expect a mid-year ratings break, but not in 2011. It's straight through to the end of the year, so while we end some programs and start others it feels like there's not much on. How wrong we are... It's always a big television week when you have the finale of a reality "talent" show, and so Dancing With The Stars makes it no different. But then I'll always find something to talk about, such is my predeliction for all things televisual. At least I got to return to a normal timeslot with Kelly Higgins-Devine as she slotted back into ABC Drive with Spencer back into breakfast. Ahh, the crazy, heady days of Drive. A busy week, but a fun week. Lots to talk about, and enjoying settling in to my new spot with Bernadette Young on ABC Coast FM. It was also my last breakfast session with Kelly Higgins-Devine as next week she returns to Drive and Spencer Howson is back into his regular slot. All the spots are taking on a good life with the various hosts. I again thank them for their willingness to let this little TV nerd get on regularly and talk TV.
