Well, they're announced, and pending any kind of injunction or legal challenge, they'll sit at the big desk and tell us what they declare to be the best of Australia's talent (from the pool that auditioned, anyway). Congratulations Andrew de Silva – Winner of #AGT 2012

Australia's Got Talent 2012 winner Andrew de Silva and Judges

Congratulations to former CDB member Andrew De Silva, last night crowned the winner of season six of Australia's Got Talent He defeated music group The Wolfe Brothers, with both musical acts making it through from the second grand final the week before and remaining as the final two entrants in the series. Andrew takes home the winner's cheque for $250,000. The show opened with a spectacular combined performance from all eight finalist acts, as well as the inclusion of some "fan favourites" from the series. It's been another big year - we've nominated, voted, partied and presented - and the 2012 Molkies have again been an unequivocal success. Once the photos get back from the photo place (i.e. out of Heath Carney's camera), I'll be posting the photos from the night on the MolksTVTalk Facebook page. We sound very pretty today. Not a Kasey Chambers kind of pretty enough, but pretty nonetheless. Searching for a sugar daddy paid off and from this week on we have actual microphones and recording gear and we sound almost semi-amateur. We think, anyway. Given it's the final week of the first part of ratings for 2012 we did discuss what was great and what was EXCESS BAGGAGE this year. You make your calls and see if you agree with us. Kyle & Jackie O's Night With The Stars

There are many phrases that could be used to describe the collection of visual diarrhea that was Kyle & Jackie O's Night With The Stars... but "engaging event television including interesting celebrity interviews" won't be one of them. Viewers were assaulted with poor audio from the start; the duo's poor interviewing skills (guest Nick Cannon - Mr Mariah Carey to you - struggled to keep his segments afloat); the set looked trashy & sterlie. It's time to make a confession. When we started out with MolksTVTalk - the Podcast 15 episodes ago, we planned to deliver a tight 30 min program that had a good mix of news, an interview, a chat about the ratings and some recommendations of TV to watch. We wanted it to be entertaining, and we wanted to break some stories there as well as dive under the covers of the headlines and develop the story further. Fat chance of all that for this episode. Jackie O & Kyle - Night With The Stars

It would be far too easy to be critical of Kyle & Jackie O's Night With The Stars. Especially since we don't actually know what the show will look like. The most this teaser promo does is give us a logo. That so many network stars had to be roped in to help kick this baby along is an indication it likely isn't very good. Also noting that it's not yet been given an airdate suggests they don't trust the program to the ratings period and it will get life just as the television year finishes. When Luke Jacobz was asked to step into the void left my Matthew Newton's self-implosion to host The X Factor Australia in 2010, he didn't have a lot of time to adjust. Yet he handled himself with distinction, and even got to tell Kyle Sandilands to shut up (oh, how we all wish we had that opportunity). But Jacobz's star didn't rise overnight. He'd been working hard on Home and Away, had successfully won the 2008 series of Dancing With The Stars, and already hosted all sorts of other shows for the 7 Network.
