The 84th Academy Awards

Ten has set a precedent for premature program launch-ulation. The Biggest Loser, Young Talent Time, Homeland, and at least a couple have paid off. Tomorrow was meant to signal the first episode of their new morning news/light entertainment program Breakfast though it launched on Thursday last week to capitalise on the developments happening with the Federal Labor leadership. Did it pay off? Not necessarily in the ratings... though this is a marathon, not a sprint. This is it. The final episodes of The Renovators (a few weeks too late for some). Week 42 brings more suprises and new shows, with some other shows still banked up to air (with only 7 weeks of the ratings season left, it's getting squeezy!). Today for the first time the SuperCheapAuto Bathurst 1000 is being broadcast in Australia in HD on 7mate, though the number of ads Ch7 are airing is wearing thin on an already skeptical audience only just getting their event LIVE live to air. Downton Abbey

Just entering the second half of the year and Week 27 is delivering some surprises along with some same old, same old. The Block finally launches into the renovation part of the series, and after a great debut week Ch9 will be hoping that everyone keeps watching. The big loser in that race, The 7PM Project have got Hughesy coming back this week, but will it be enough? House finishes it's season this week, and the interesting final episode of On Trial airs.
