Primary Channels
Channel 10 really have some ‘splainin to do, given their once strong Monday night has pretty much fallen in the toilet. The network didn’t pull one show in the Top 20, with it’s highest rater Junior MasterChef delivering a paltry 599,000 (Undercover Boss Australia delivered 583,000 and the first 1 hour The Project averaged a sad 571,000). Perhaps Ch10 should be coding The Project in half hour slots?
On the flipside it’s all party streamers and balloons at Ch9, with the network continuing it’s winning ways this week – it had the Top 2 shows (The Big Bang Theory & Celebrity Apprentice Australia – Challenge) & 7 shows in the Top 20. Ch7 did well too (5 shows in Top 20) and the ABC rated well with 8 shows Top 20, though all 11-20. Again coding Celebrity Apprentice as two shows meant it rated strongly and appeared twice in the Top 10, though it didn’t win the 7pm slot (only 14,000 in it, though).
Timeslot winners (nationally):
6:00pm: Seven News – Ch7
6:30pm: Today Tonight – Ch7
7:00pm: Home and Away – Ch7
7:30pm: Celebrity Apprentice/Big Bang Theory – Ch9
8:30pm: The Mentalist – Ch9
9:30pm: Body of Proof (2nd hour) – Ch7
Channel 9 won the night (24.1%), followed by Channel 7 (21.8%), ABC1 (15.3%) & Channel 10 (11.6%).
