Happy birthday to me. And welcome to the week before Christmas. With schedules effectively been put to sleep for the next couple of weeks, there wasn’t much of a battle for anything. Ch7’s News (1st; 1,064,000) took top honours though Ch9 did then have the top shows in the 6:30pm/7:30pm timeslots, and ABC1 took 8:30pm. It’s A Knockout (17th; 533,000) will struggle through the Christmas period though will likely perk up in the New Year. Intriguing that 366,000 people in Melbourne tuned in for the Arthur Beetson – Tribute To A Legend memorial at 5:30pm on Sunday afternoon. Perhaps they thought it was something else? Too much sport is never enough?
Timeslot winners (nationally):
6:00pm: Seven News – Ch7
6:30pm: Shrek The Halls/Big Bang Theory – Ch9
7:30pm: 60 Minutes – Ch9
8:30pm: Upstairs Downstairs – ABC1
9:30pm: Castle – Ch7
Channel 7 won the night (20.6%), followed by Channel 9 (19.7%), ABC1 (14.8%) & Channel 10 (13.3%).
