After much (much) promotion, it’s finally here… both Wake Up and Studio 10 will launch on Monday 4 November. Not before time, either, as promo fatigue was starting to set in. [Mandatory Statement about Aussie Breakfast television] We’ll see how everything changes when they start in a couple of weeks. From the press release.
Network Ten today announced that its new breakfast and morning television line-up – consisting of TEN Eyewitness News Early, Wake Up, Studio 10 and TEN Eyewitness News Morning – will premiere on Monday, November 4.
From 5.30am weekdays, TEN Eyewitness News Early, presented by Matt Doran, Magdalena Roze and Scott Mackinnon, will provide the latest in news, sport and weather from around Australia and overseas.
Network Ten’s new breakfast show Wake Up will commence from 6.30am.
Broadcast live from Surf City, Manly, Australia, Wake Up will be hosted by James Mathison, Natarsha Belling and Natasha Exelby. News Presenter Nuala Hafner will be based in Melbourne’s Federation Square, providing up-to-the-minute local news for each market. Sam Mac will join the Wake Up team as a roving reporter, while Maude Garrett will deliver all the latest entertainment news live from Los Angeles.
Network Ten Director of Morning Television, Adam Boland, said: “I am very thankful to the team at Network Ten for meeting every challenge presented to them. Producing a show from a beach studio was no small task, but the result makes it more than worthwhile. Local news, stunning locations, engaging hosts and real conversation – we reckon we will give viewers something that is missing from breakfast television and we just can’t wait to get on air.”
Network Ten’s new morning show, Studio 10, will follow live at 8.30am from Network Ten’s Sydney studios at Pyrmont.
Hosted by Ita Buttrose, Joe Hildebrand, Sarah Harris and Jessica Rowe, Studio 10 will feature a unique in-the-round set and a live studio audience. Joining the Studio 10 hosts will be a plethora of regular contributors including reporter Jono Coleman, Showbiz File reporters Angela Bishop and Craig Bennett, and Health and Medical Editor Dr Andrew Rochford.
At 10.30am each day, Studio 10 transforms into Studio 10 You, a show about health, beauty and well-being. Renowned clinical psychologist and author Jo Lamble will join the team on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for live counselling segments, covering myriad including relationship and family issues, depression and anxiety. Every Tuesday and Thursday, Studio 10 You will cover medical issues with Dr Andrew Rochford, plus fashion and beauty with some of the biggest names in the business.
Studio 10 Executive Producer Rob McKnight said: “This is one of the best teams on television. From our superstar panel to the best experts in the business, Studio 10 will be a must-watch destination in the morning. Studio 10 will offer a true alternative with great conversation and a fantastic mix of segments. The live studio audience changes everything. They add an air of excitement you simply can’t replicate,” he said.
Adam Boland added: “We are incredibly proud to have created something genuinely different. These two shows are different from each other and more importantly, different from their competitors. We’re confident that mornings will never be the same.”
Matt Doran, Magdalena Roze and Scott Mackinnon will return at 11am with TEN Eyewitness News Morning, providing extensive coverage of the latest news, sport and weather, establishing Ten as the only commercial free-to-air television network that provides a comprehensive breakfast-to-bedtime News service.
