If you thought that in Week 28 we’d still be getting dished up the same old thing… we’ll you’d have partially been right. The Block has taken a firm hold of the 7pm timeslot as people seem to be tuning in to the long form renovation/reality show (although creator Julian Cress did post on the Facebook page for the show this week that this coming week would have more actual renovation – a sign people are watching and listening to criticism).

Downton Abbey delivers it’s second last episode for its first series, and Australian fans cannot get enough – Channel 7 will do well to deliver the second season fast-tracked else have the audience pool watered down as people seek it elsewhere, such is the appetite for the show.

There’s some exciting (other) content this week, nonetheless…

Kevin McCloud is back with a new series of Grand Designs on ABC1 starting tonight at 7:30pm. His architectural background puts him in good stead to understand the challenges faced by the people in questions looking at renovating or building their dream houses. It’s always a sobering reminder to order the glass weeks earlier than you thought you should.

Can Of Worms launches onto our screens Monday night, hosted by Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson and featuring Meshel Laurie & Dan Ilic. The first guests/panelists/players of the game are George McEncroe, Craig Reucassel & Jason Akermanis. This will be watercooler television at it’s finest. One to watch and argue about on Twitter immediately.

This Thursday ABC1 offers another Q & A special event. Launching off the back of the success of Go Back To Where You Came From over the last two weeks, it will first air the doco The Leaky Boat and then hold a forum Q & A: Stopping The Boats. Hopefully it will be more enagaging than the last time they did this.
