One week into The Renovators and the response has been varied. It’s not horrible by any standards, but the 8:30pm timeslot is doing it no favours. Still, this week it’s all about the finals: final week of MasterChef Australia, final of this season of Criminal Minds, the final episode of The Amazing Race Australia and the final of Australia’s Got Talent – finally. Everything just feels so… final.

Welcome back to The Gruen Transfer – you’ve been away too long. And even though this season is a shortened one, we’ll all be paying attention.
The second episode of Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year will be telling. Will they have tightened up the things that weren’t so good in the first ep? Will they still be pilloried in the Murdoch press? Will Jack look less like a bad mime artist? We’ll find out Thursday.
If you want a show to watch that will ultimately make you feel better about yourself, try Hardcore Pawn. It’s deliciously joyous to see the Gold family that run America’s Biggest Pawn Shop interact with each other and their clients. Who wouldn’t pawn a pole-dancing pole or a horse?!
