Grief. It consumes us all at times and TV can play a big part in that. Be it as the cause, a distraction… even as a healer. Welcome to the MolksTVTalk Podcast where this week Josh and I tramp all over people’s grief like only we can.
This week a few people have been working through the seven stages of grief as CHANNEL TEN went to court to force programming guru JOHN STEPHENS to honour his contract he signed with them in February which would mean leaving CHANNEL SEVEN. The court case is suitably brutal, revealing the very soft and often kicked underbelly of Ten.
It’s also the time of the year when the US renewals and cancellations news comes out and it caught some by surprise as to what got binned. COMMUNITY, SUBURGATORY and REVOLUTION and more fall into the loved category whereas shows like HOSTAGES, INTELLIGENCE, RAKE (US) and SUPER FUN NIGHT are more mercy killings than anything else. Then there’s the announcement that PARENTHOOD, PARKS AND RECREATION, GLEE and TWO AND A HALF MEN will get one final season.
There’s also a bunch of new shows coming to Aussie TV in the near future so they were worth discussing – DIRTY LAUNDRY LIVE, WHEN LOVE COMES TO TOWN, IT’S A DATE and I WANNA MARRY HARRY among others. What a great time to be alive!
