In the worst kept secret since Kerri-Anne was dumped from Ch9, finally Ch7 PR have confirmed the small-screen legend will be joining the coming season of Dancing With The Stars as a contestant, as well as developing her own prime-time vehicle. Oh the LOLZ had at jokes about KAK’s shoe fetish! I wonder how long her “exciting new prime time project” sits in development? She certainly knows how to milk a joke – though Kerri-Anne knows Peter Costello isn’t a thing anymore… right? From the press release:

Channel Seven is thrilled to welcome Kerri-Anne Kennerley to the Network, as the TV legend moves to prime time in 2012.

Seven today confirmed Kerri-Anne will star in an exciting new prime time project, and will put her on dancing shoes, as a contestant on the new series of DANCING WITH THE STARS. Kerri-Anne will also feature across some of Seven’s established line-up of shows.

“I’m thrilled and genuinely excited to be joining Seven,” Kerri-Anne said today. “I can’t wait for the new show later in the year, as well as new dance steps to learn…watch out Peter Costello! I am really looking forward to meeting my dancing partner. Hope he doesn’t need a block and tackle to lift me! What a year ahead!”

Seven’s Head of Production, Brad Lyons said: “Kerri-Anne is of one of TV’s most enduring and well-loved presenters. She will bring a ton of energy and fun to the Network, and we already building an extension on her dressing room to fit her shoe collection.”

Kerri-Anne is the first DANCING WITH THE STARS 2012 contestant to be announced, with further cast to be revealed soon.
