One of the most enjoyable things about Channel 10’s latest long-form event reality series The Renovators is just how passionate and energetic the four judges are. Brenden Moar, Robyn Holt, Peter Ho & Barry du Bois are clearly enjoying themselves and their skill & dedication to their trade over the years really bubbles forth in their excitement on screen due to being a part of the show. “Baz”, a master builder with over 40 years experience, is relishing his role as mentor to the contestants as they compete to be named Australia’s top renovator – and in the process score the profit from the sale of all six houses being made over on the show.
Baz was in Brisbane to support a fundraiser for The Brahminy Group, a charity he got behind after seeing it featured in a documentary series on ABC1 called “Outback Kids“. His support of the charity continues to reveal the soft underbelly we’ve seen of late from him on the show. A man who has worked his way up to the top of his game from humble beginnings, Baz is a lovely guy with lots of great stories to tell.
Many thanks to Barry for the chat, and to Flute at Rosalie for letting us take over a corner for a couple of hours.
