85 million years in the making, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Importantly, Steven Spielberg’s big budget television series Terra Nova (network spin: ambitious epic family adventure) has been filmed on location in Australia, and looks to be a science fiction story with hope and a half-decent plot.
The series follows an ordinary family on an incredible journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a small part of a daring experiment to save the human race. In the year 2149, the world is dying. The planet is overdeveloped and overcrowded, with the majority of plant and animal life extinct. The future of mankind is in doubt, and its only hope for survival is in the distant past.
Just as long as it doesn’t try to be Jurassic Park, we’ll be OK. Those dinosaurs can be right bitches when they’re hungry…
My son Corey has moved to the Gold Coast for 6 months because of Terranova! He worked on the Pilot series last year, and then re-signed to act as the stand-in for Landon Liboiron (he plays Josh Shannon – the “son” with the prominent eyebrows is probably the best way to identify him at present!). He has deferred Uni to work on this “epic”. As a mum all I can say is “It’d better be worth it!” and “Go back to Uni!” hehehe
