The downfall of The Captain & Corinne meant My Kitchen Rules (1st – 2,124,000) meant the series delivered the biggest ratings this show has seen in a phase one/Instant Restaurant round yet. The Block: Fans v Faves (7th – 1,079,000), though respectable figures, didn’t even stand a chance. It was a complete reversal at 8:30pm/8:40pm/8:50pm when Love Child (2nd – 1,255,000) sold the audience and Revenge (E01: 10th – 937,000; E02: 13th – 762,000) lost more than half it’s lead in. A stunning Australian Story (12th – 769,000) gets lost in the noise though should pick up better figures with additional plays on ABC2 and iview as well as catch up. That two new Modern Family episodes didn’t make it into the Top 20 *while the cast are in the country* is proof that Ten have sadly cooked that golden goose.
