Primary Channels

It was the battle of Oprah vs the One Day International Cricket – which is not anything that could have been predicted before Christmas. Given the Cricket, Nine News benefitted from the lead in/out and won the 6pm slot. Sunrise beat the Today Show, with the Qld only version ending the week in the same fashion. A shame, as significant resource was poured into the local version, but additional thinking required. Very interesting to note that the Australian Open Tennis – Night session scraped in at 14th against the cricket, but looking also at the scores for markets outside MEL/SYD (where it was live) people didn’t seem to bother. It does beg the question – how can Channel 9 deliver the cricket live into every market, but Channel 7 can’t do the same with the tennis?

Digital Multi-channels

Neighbours still strong, although not as good as earlier in the week but Eleven still scoring well with it’s “Dancey Dance” show So You Think You Can Dance (US Version). Not surprising that so much of ABC2’s children’s content features today – Mum & Dad wanted to watch the cricket in peace.
