The first of the big two televised Carols events easily won the night for Ch7, with Carols In The Domain (1st; 975,000) pulling the biggest Saturday night non-News audience in a while. Consequently even things like The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol (5th; 616,000) got a look in. Michael Buble’s Christmas (7th; 559,000) followed the Carols and was better in many ways than the show that preceeded it (in BNE – in other states Buble was on before the Smurfs). Other networks had a go, but couldn’t come close to Ch7 for the night. With all the attention on the primary channels it’s amazing that Heartbeat drew the winning audience on 7Two, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Another great audience turn out for the Twenty 20 Cricket Big Bash made it the tenth most watched program OVERALL for the night.
