The launch of Australia’s Got Talent (6th – 1,044,000) solid but beaten by The X Factor Australia (3rd – 1,314,000), though fates reversed when it came to the current affairs battle – 60 Minutes (4th – 1,162,000) vs Sunday Night (5th – 1,075,000). Sundays are certainly very, very close for Seven and Nine and neither are backing down. The best Ten could offer was MasterChef Australia (12th – 699,000), sadly indicating the show is near terminal.
It was only Adelaide and Perth that got Seven over the line on the 6pm News – they beat Nine by a mere 7,000 viewers while Nine pick up the valuable East Coast win.
An interesting battle for the election debate too. Australia Votes: Leader’s Debate (ABC1) (12th – 708,000) leads the pack though the commercial networks show they’re maturing by using their other channels – The Great Debate – Election 2013 (GEM) (233,000), Seven News Special (7Two) (228,000) & Australia Votes: Leader’s Debate (ABC News 24) (198,000).
