Congratulations to The Block (1st – 1,806,000) for a massive win, but isn’t enough to help Ch9 take the overall win for the night from Ch7 (what’s a network gotta do?!). Off the back of great promo lots of eyes tuned in for 60 Minutes (5th – 1,455,000), just ahead of MasterChef Australia (6th – 1,330,000) and while still over one million Dancing With The Stars (7th – 1,176,000) languishes in a distant 2nd for 6:30pm/3rd for 7:30pm as timeslot competition. The delightful Downton Abbey (4th – 1,497,000) continues to deliver for Ch7 and continues to get better as the second series progresses. Touch (17th – 490,000) now all but dead in the Ch10 “Super Sunday” line up. At either ends of the day the comparison is difficult, though seeing The Project (19th – 400,00) rate only marginally higher than Weekend Sunrise (20th – 366,000) isn’t great for the enjoyable and accessible Ch10 current affairs program.
Timeslot winners (nationally):
6:00pm: Seven News – Ch7
6:30pm: The Block – Ch9
7:30pm: 60 Minutes – Ch9
8:30pm: Downton Abbey – Ch7
9:30pm: Castle – Ch7
Channel 7 won the night (24.9%), followed by Channel 9 (24%), Channel 10 (14.3%) & ABC1 (11.5%).
