HAPPY NEW YEAR! It seems everyone was partied out, so all they wanted to do was kick back and see what everyone else did for NYE, thus Ch7 & Ch9’s News rated highest for the night (Ch9 just pipping Ch7). Obviously the old people were in charge of the remote control however, as The Vicar Of Dibley – Special (3rd – 862,000) was up there ahead of the much more impressive (also a repeat) David Attenborough’s Madagascar (5th – 800,000). Good to see a Grand Designs (4th – 837,000) pick up a timeslot win too.

Channel 7 won the night (20.4%), followed by Channel 9 (18.3%), ABC1 (15.3%) & Channel 10 (9.9%).
