At least 16 new or returning shows this week, and with the tennis finally getting out of the way we can start to see how some shows get to line up head-to-head. With The Biggest Loser struggling last week and now meeting Excess Baggage directly at 7pm, with both crossing over at 7:30pm to compete with My Kitchen Rules it a reality-fest we’ve not seen from the commercial networks before. Cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war…

There’s something a little too pleasant about Excess Baggage. There’s no humiliation (other than between contestant’s egos), there’s nobody trying to hook up making it a little bit creepy. A certain surprise package for Ch9 this year, so get on board early.

Please Marry My Boy has had a promo run from hell – everyone thinks the guys involved are mummy’s boys. They may reveal themselves to be, but this Farmer Wants A Wife-in-the-suburbs clone is sure to surprise many and become addictive viewing.

Santo, Sam & Ed’s Sports Fever – from the people at Working Dog. Success!

I really liked The Straits, and with a double episode to start the series this week it will give you a great indication to what this season will be like. Hint: It gets more violent, but that’s not a bad thing.
