We’re starting to warm up here, people. You can smell the new shows as they drop into the schedule and there’s more to come next week and then the new ratings season is but a fortnight away. HOORAY! THE DROUGHT IS OVER! And yet, now it begins to pour – PVRs at the ready, please…

The ABC offer a great variety this week, including the reasons behind the fame of ABBA (& it’s all our fault) with ABBA: Bang A Boomerang. Craig McLachlan returns to TV in a cracking new period crime/drama series The Doctor Blake Mysteries, & the joys of working in the first big department store in London come to pass on Saturday night in The Paradise.

Seven finish up the tennis tonight with the Men’s final, then launch into the far-too-often promoted My Kitchen Rules, to run Mon-Wed this week. Dave & Julie Rafter return on Tuesday in Packed To The Rafters, though all is still not well in their relationship.

If you don’t like Twenty/20 Cricket, old movies or 9 REPEAT episodes of The Big Bang Theory, you won’t be watching Channel Nine this week.

Ten continue with MasterChef The Professionals Sun-Tue and it keeps getting better (even as the professionals vanish two a week). Glee returns with a double episode followed by the 2nd Annual AACTA Awards on Wednesday night, the latter hosted by New Zealand’s own Russell Crowe.
