For a show that has largely underwhelmed this season, a lot is being made of the grand final episodes. The producers must have loved the train wreck that is Altiyan – just the whole crazy mess. Sally has performed strongly, although overshadowed by far too many average performances. Too much has been made of the ‘team & mentor’ approach, when in fact it could have well been a strength. Instead, all that we’ve gotten are lacklustre performances and in-fighting between the judges where ego is king and the competitors stand on stage slack-jawed longing for some actual help.

I guess it’s a good idea it’s finishing, anyway. The release reads:

THE X FACTOR grand finalist’s Sally Chatfield, Altiyan Childs and Andrew Lawson will head in to this weekend’s epic grand final with duet performances with some of the world’s most successful recording artists – Jamiroquai, James Blunt and INXS.

As well as performing the songs that kicked off the X Factor ride from their respective auditions, their mentor’s favourite song from the series and their own distinctive version of the winner’s single, they will pair up with the international megastars, Jamiroquai, James Blunt and INXS, to perform one of their biggest global hits this Sunday night.

Sally, Altiyan and Andrew will perform more songs than ever before and will need to win the viewers at home over as the final verdict will be decided solely by public vote – taking the decision out of judges Kyle Sandilands, Natalie Imbruglia, Guy Sebastian and Ronan Keating’s hands.

All three acts have proven that they have the X Factor – but who will take home the winner’s title and score a recording contract with Sony Music?

Will it be powerful diva Sally, rockstar Altiyan or the swinging crooner Andrew?

Lines will be open at 7.30pm AEDT on Sunday and will close 12.00pm AEDT Monday www.xfactortv.com.au for more information.

On Monday night THE X FACTOR judge Guy Sebastian will also take to the stage to perform his brand new single, Who’s That Girl, with controversial American rapper Eve.
