Basically – it’s messy.
Merrill does well to help us wind through some of the history as to how we get to the spot modern US TV is in, speed bumps and all along the way. Sure there’s about 300 million more Americans than Australians but they’ve still got it pretty good when you accept just about everything is in HD, there are a billion choices and it’s only getting better from there. That’s not saying they get it right, though…
There’s even some 2015 Emmys nominations chat right at the end to bump out the episode length a little (well, I know you appreciate the value).
