When Luke Jacobz was asked to step into the void left my Matthew Newton’s self-implosion to host The X Factor Australia in 2010, he didn’t have a lot of time to adjust. Yet he handled himself with distinction, and even got to tell Kyle Sandilands to shut up (oh, how we all wish we had that opportunity).
But Jacobz’s star didn’t rise overnight. He’d been working hard on Home and Away, had successfully won the 2008 series of Dancing With The Stars, and already hosted all sorts of other shows for the 7 Network. He deserved a bigger audience and got it with The X Factor Australia.
Luke was in Brisbane on 1 April, and I was lucky enough to share breakfast and a chat with him. He very generously gave me this interview – insightful, entertaining and generously revealing…
I remember when Luke Jacobz was on the Big Arvo.. He had different hairstyle back then though…
Steve, good interview and interviewee, you can see why he’s become Seven’s “got to” man. Luke is refreshingly candid and pretty comfortable……. his career would be complete if only he could garner a Molkie for himself.
Everybody wants a Molkie… it’s the must have award to have in one’s trophy cabinet!
