It’s not a bad way to promote your new show – turn it into a 25 minute advertisment on a network needing content to fill during the non-ratings Christmas period. The Nine Network and Australian Outback Spectacular brings you an exclusive behind the scenes look at their newest live event, “Spirit of the Horse – A Tribute to Phar Lap”, on Saturday, December 17 at 5.30pm on Channel Nine.
Award winning director, Simon Wincer, (Phar Lap and The Cup) re-tells one of Australia’s most legendary tales through the talented Australian Outback Spectacular team. This brand new show is not only a celebration of the courageous spirit of the Australian horse but an emotive commemoration of the legend that is Phar Lap.
The half hour special, hosted by Weekend Today’s Cameron Williams, features exclusive interviews with cast and crew members and an insight into some of the show’s secrets.
Williams takes you on a tour of how the show comes to life, including the production and preparation of the talented animal performers.
This special documentary also features a guest appearance by country singing sensation Lee Kernaghan.
