It all sounds very Video Hits, now with added social media stuffs. Scott Tweedie was attached to The Loop from the start, and the minute Eleven announced there was a competition for his co-host, you twenty-something women were all ears. Or tweets. Or Facebook posts. Anyway, here comes Ash London. From the press release:

Here to pump up your weekends, ELEVEN is proud to announce Australia’s brand new music and
entertainment program, THE LOOP, starting Saturday 28 January at 9am.

Counting down the top 20 songs from the iTunes chart each week, as well as hit predictions, classic anthems and new Australian releases, The Loop is set to be the hottest weekend music destination.
On the entertainment side, we’re taking you to the movies and diving into all things digital, as we review the best viral videos and trending tweets.

We’re also pleased as punch to announce THE LOOP’s new co-host, the delightful Ash London. With over 1000 entries from across Australia in our online ‘Hunt for a Host’, Ash stood out from the crowd. Coming from a music media background in Melbourne, Ash’s musical street cred and her on-screen chemistry with co-host Scott Tweedie made her our absolute favourite.

Network Ten Head of Programming, Beverley McGarvey says, “The Loop is taking the next step in music and entertainment programming by stretching its reach to the online world. It’s this young and innovative approach that makes the show a perfect fit for ELEVEN.”

On joining The Loop team, Ash says, “This is almost as exciting as the time I touched Ricky Martin’s hand in 2001. I just about feel like the luckiest girl in the world, and can’t wait to join my rockin’ partner-in-crime Scott in bringing the tunes every Saturday morning. Bring on the adventure!”

Airing from 9-11.30am Saturday mornings, with an encore late Saturday evenings, THE LOOP will have you singing, dancing and downloading.

Pop the kettle on. It’s time to get in THE LOOP.
