Since the announcement of the return of It’s A Knockout to our screens on Channel 10 this summer, many people have held high expectations. Will it be as good as the memories we have of the original? Can HG Nelson, Brad McEwan and Charli Robinson live up to the lofty standards set for them by Billy J Smith and Fiona MacDonald? We certainly hope so.
The difficulty in keeping secrets is that the even the crew have the ability to take recordings from dry runs and rehearsals to bang up on YouTube and ruin the whole surprise. So, with that spoiler alert in place, have a look Australia at your new It’s a Knockout set all ready to go in Malaysia. (I particularly love the judges/hosts stand-ins for this shot – stuffed giraffes. I think that speaks volumes.)
I am 20 years old and have been wanting Its a Knock Out to return to TV for years however I am really dissapointed that it is being filmed in Malasia. Its A Knock Out was a fantastic Australian Show, I highly doubt it will be half as good being filmed in Malaysia and I doubt I will be watching the New Its A Knock Out because It wont compare to the original SHAME !
It’s an entirely Aussie show it just isn’t shot in Australia no doubt due to legal reasons (health & safety blah blah blah)… Everyone on the show is Australian. So that should put your racist mind at ease Emilia… Also when it was first made in Oz residents complained about it being filmed so it was consequently axed in 1987. It was only on for 2-3 yrs… If you’re only 20 I doubt you’re old enough to even remember it first being played on Aus tv.
Why is everyone so against it being made elsewhere?? It’s a knockout was originally based on a French show called “Intervilles” anyway
… So having reasonable concerns about protecting Aussie jobs (eg set construction, set design etc) is racist rina? You are a self indulgent twit! Along with protecting jobs the large crowd interaction was a big part of the original IAKO so having a small audience of Malaysians is also going impact the show. And what is the relevance that it was based on a similar French show? We are talking about this australia’s IAKO.
I am sick of reading rubbish insults from left wing lunatics like rina. If you think emila’s comment is racist, you have no idea what the word means.
By the what are the health and safety isssues blah blah that would make it need to be filmed in Malaysia??? The producers have openly said they filmed it there because it was cheaper – absolutely nothing to do with health and safety you moron. Get your FACS straight before insulting people.
Thanks James Shaw for your back up!!. I am far from a racist actually Rina! I have worked over-seas in Africa for a Street Kids Organisation and have been working at Villawood detention Centre Part time for over a year now and YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO CALL ME A RACIST!!!!! well Rina just like James Shaw said above I think you need to get your facts right as I am far from what you would call a racist. I have been brought up in a family that has helped people in developing countries over-seas and also helped our fellow Indigenous Australian people. And lastly I am currently studying a Bachelor of International Studies at Uni so Rina next time before you open your mouth think about what you are saying!.
You are not even worth my time and effort.
Thanks again James for your support, comments and back up!
I think everyone needs to calm down… I don’t think anyone is calling anyone racist, and if they are there’s no place for it. Take a breath, and treat others as you would have them treat you please.
