Game on, molls.
Over the last few months, Channel 10 has delivered some solid and enjoyable drama. With this first look at the new Puberty Blues series it has commissioned it’s comforting to see the trend continuing. Landing on our screens post-Olympics (yes, another one we have to wait for) the series based on the book/movie of the same name develops the story around the two central girls and the adults in their lives a little more while showcasing Australia in the 70’s.
The 8 part series offers a stellar cast – Isabelle Cornish, Rodger Corser, Ashleigh Cummings, Brenna Harding, Claudia Karvan, Jeremy Lindsay Taylor, Susie Porter & Dan Wyllie just as a starting group – as well as a very solid production team that have faithfully reproduced the iconic book for the small(ish) screen and a soundtrack to die for. Be warned – it’s no children’s story, with some fairly frank and graphic topics up for discussion/on parade, but that’s all part of the fun, isn’t it?
