Both Highway Patrol (5th – 1,035,000) and Surveillance Oz (1st – 1,100,000) lead the night for Channel 7, and make this commentator weep for both our schedules and the viewing tastes of the audience. As a continuing sign of Ch10’s luck the season 4 premiere of Glee (19th – 552,000) barely rates a bubble. The final Gruen Planet (4th – 1,038,000) for the year rates above one million again and reinforces its role as one of the marquee shows for the ABC brand. The Hamster Wheel (14th – 795,000) follows well but a little weaker from its lead in while offering some of the funniest satire going around.
In a rare feat, Sunrise (28th – 356,000) and The Today Show (28th – 356,000) rate in a dead heat – well above the series premiere of Ch10’s imported Grey’s Anatomy knock off Emily Owens MD (37th – 239,000).
