Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell (15th – 596,000) continues to bat well above its weight in a competitive timeslot, and remains the funniest show currently on air. The premiere of Puberty Blues (17th – 538,000), no doubt buoyed by the inclusion of the S05 Offspring sneak peek, does OK but is a distant third in a softer 8:30pm timeslot against The Blacklist (9th – 869,000), Inside Story (11th – 700,000) and Spicks and Specks (20th – 443,000)/The Moodys (24th – 339,000).
The real question for networks is: What are they to do with much softer 8:30pm numbers after their massive reality 7:30pm lead-ins? It’s still not *that* light outside…
