It’s more a case of what’s survived and what’s succeeding than anything else – and it’s only week 3 of ratings!
Rev returns for season two – a likeable comedy looking at a country Church of England priest now responsible for a very busy inner-city parish. Josh Thomas’s new six-part sitcom Please Like Me kicks off on Thursday and it’s really enjoyable.
Nine have offered a sensible solution for fans of The Academy Awards – running it live from 11:30am AEST on Monday and then replaying the event from 9:30pm that evening. More of this for big US awards events, please.
After it’s appalling run last week, Glee moves to Tuesdays and to Eleven. Even the shark doesn’t want to sing and dance with the kids of McKinley. Later that evening season six of Californication hits our screens featuring the spectacular Tim Minchin. Excellent.

You are spot on with just about all of it. I am finding myself watching so much Australian content lately – Mr and Mrs Murder, Miss Fisher and Dr Blake. Absolutely top notch all three. Though Thursday nights I like to retreat to 11s Star Trek DS9 – missed a lot of episodes due to Channel 9 programmer allergy to Sci Fi years ago. Something not on your list, for those who are home sick tomorrow is Storm Centre – 2pm on 72 Friday 1 March. One of the classic librarian movies this 1956 film stars Bette Davis who is branded a communist when she refuses to withdraw a controversial book from the library. Its black and white, rarely shown and really hard to get on DVD in Australia.
