To footy fans across the country, he was a hero. An AFL god. But while he was perfection on the field, out in the real world Ben Cousins was a total disaster. A drug addict who couldn’t – or wouldn’t – kick the habit.
This year, he finally ended up in jail. His now estranged partner and the mother of his children, Maylea Tinecheff, lived through the horror of Ben’s ice addiction, the mayhem and the madness. She also witnessed his desperate efforts to find salvation. And saw the private Ben away from the cameras, a devoted and loving dad.
